Rizwan has practised law for over 16 years, both in Pakistan and internationally. He has substantial experience in commercial, corporate, finance, insurance and securities law. He has been the lead lawyer in several high-end cross-border transactions in nearly 40 jurisdictions across all 5 continents.

He has extensive legal experience as a private practitioner in Pakistan and as senior counsel and acting general counsel for the Australian Federal Government’s export credit agency from 1999 to 2007.

Rizwan has acted for both public and private sector clients. He is well regarded for his strengths in all stages of project implementation such as structuring, documentation, negotiation, operation, restructuring and recovery, and has worked on matters in a range of industry sectors, including banking, capital markets, construction, engineering, finance, insurance, manufacturing, telecommunication and transport.

Rizwan draws upon his extensive experience as both external and in-house counsel to provide consistently accurate and timely legal advice and develops commercial solutions underpinned by rigorous analysis to give his clients a competitive edge.

Rizwan read law at University College London where he obtained his LL.B. (Hons) in 1990 and LL.M. in 1992. He is a Barrister of the Middle Temple (1991), a Solicitor and Barrister, New South Wales (2000) and an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan (1993).
